It also has one of the five largest markets for consumer electronics in the world. Indonesia's electronics industry has experienced rapid growth. The Indonesian Electronics Producers Association, or Gabel, reports that domestic sales of electronics products increase around 11% each year. The electronics industry in Indonesia includes a variety of sub-sectors, from consumer electronics to semiconductors. The shift in electronics manufacturing from Japan to Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore is a very important development. One of these countries is Indonesia. Indonesia has gained from the relocation from Japan, Taiwan and South Korea of electronic manufacturing centers. The appreciation in the currencies of these nations was the main reason for this relocation. One other factor was that many countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, began to promote electronics manufacturing.According to the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map, the electronics industry has been given priority in the digital transformation. Investments in this sector increased by 7.8% between January and September 2021, or Rp 59.4 Trillion ($ 4 Bn), compared with the same period the year before. Exports in the electronics sector reached US$1.8 billion, or Rp. 25.9 trillion. This number has increased by 98% in comparison to the same time period last year (year-on-year/yoy).Electronics is one of the most important sectors in the Making Indonesia 4.0 Program. Indonesian electronics exports have reached US$9.4 Billion or Rp144.2 Trillion from January to July of 2022. This figure is up 18.9 percent from the US$7.93 billion of the previous year. Indonesia's electronics industry is the fourth-largest exporter.According to the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map, the electronics sector is among the sectors given priority for development in the digital transformation.
