Cape Town hosted Solar Power Africa during an important period for the development of clean energy in Africa. Our plans have been advanced to become a leader city in renewable energy deployment across the continent. Cape Town will add 1GW new energy over time to its grid through power purchases, projects and incentives for small-scale production. The 2024 Solar Power Africa was a great opportunity to bring together the rapidly-growing industry to share their knowledge, expertise, and ideas, as they made a transition to energy which is reliable, cost effective, and carbon neutral", said Gordon Hill Lewis.

The first Solar Power Africa Trade Show confirmed South Africa's leadership in the continent's shift to renewable energy.
